Grave of the Fireflies Review
Grave of the Fireflies is an animation written and directed by Isao Takahata and animated by Studio Ghibli . The animation is considered an anti-war movie since the plot is about two siblings in the post-war of japan. The story is based on t he 1967 semi-autobiographical novel Grave of the Fireflies by Akiyuki Nosaka. The story talks about the lives of Setsuko and Seita. The animation started shortly after the end of the world war II where we can see a 14 year old boy dying from starvation. His name is Seita. Grave of the fireflies tells a backstory about the lives of Seita and his sister setsuko. During the war, the siblings together with their mother tried to go to the nearest bomb shelter. As they tried to secure their mother who had a heart illness, they were caught off guard and got hit by a nearby bomb. Both the siblings survived but their mother was severed and later died in a medical facility. With no where to turn to. the two ...
