Hikaru No Go Review
Hikaru no Go is an animation to the manga series authored by Yumi Hotta, the animation is all about a boy named Hikaru and the game Go ( Encircling Game ). Hikaru stumbles across an old board game owned by his Grandfather. Hikaru later known that the Go board is haunted by a Go player's spirit named Sai. Sai is a ghost from the Heian era who haunts the board because he wasn't able to achieve his greatest desire as a Go player, and that is to attain the Divine Move or the Perfect Move. At the start of series, Hikaru is not really into playing go until Sai asked him to try it out. Now Hikaru plays along side Sai who gives him instruction on the moves that he will use. As the story progresses, Hikaru is constantly learning how to play by himself. This anime Revolves around the life and matches of Hikaru Together with Sai to attain their Greatest Desire.
This anime is one of those rare types of anime where the main characters are not basing on strength or power. this animation proves that there are more than physical strength and those are tactics and power of the mind. this series could pass as a shonen / battle manga in a different perspective. The story is really helpful in promoting the game called Go. even if I don't really understand what the game is all about, or how the game is played. i always enjoy every time they are in a tournament of Go. This anime doesn't have much of an impact to make viewers watch it since the first episode is not that strong. but as i watch more of the episodes, i started to follow and appreciate what this anime brings. The characters and plot are really something. even though most of the time the spotlight always shine on hikaru and Sai and the other main characters, they still have manage to make the other characters grow in their own way. This is an anime to watch for those who wanted more mind games and board games. The only Flaw i can see in this anime is that there are times when the story seems to be unrelated to the previous episode and that tends to confuse others.
I'll rate this anime 8/10
