Shakugan No Shana Review

Shakugan no Shana or simply "Shana" is an anime adaptation to the light novel written by Yashichiro Takahashi. The series started airing on October 6 2005 with 24 episodes. The story focuses on Yuji Sakai, a seem-to-be normal high schooler who suddenly witnessed a strange event where time suddenly stopped inside an enclosed space. Yuji saw two mysterious beings who seems to be eating the souls of the people who were not moving. Worse come to Yuji when both of the creature suddenly saw him and said something about him being special. When he was about to be eaten, a red haired girl who seemed to be of his age saved him and defeated the monsters who tagged her as the Red Haired and Red Eyed "Flame Haze".

After the incident, Shana explained to Yuji why he was called special.  Yuji was basically a special Torch ( Person who's already dead and the existence was changed to a form of a torch ) and was called a Mystes, or a torch with special Treasure hidden inside them, It happened that yuji possesses the most special treasure of all, The Reiji Maigo who replenishes the user's existence during midnight.  Shana also explained what she is. Flame Haze restored balance in the world which are disrupted by the Tomogaras ( Enemies of Flame hazes who eats power of existence from normal people) and with their Rinnes ( monsters ). Flame haze are normal people who formed a contract with the King of Guze who takes the form of the accessory the flame haze wish to have. Now Shana is guarding Yuji because of the Reiji Maigo and she will be fighting the Tomogaras who are after the treasure, and she will also fight other flame haze who will be on their way.

This anime is one of my favorites since way back I've always loved epic fight scenes and cool powers and such. shakugan no shana hit all of the marks making those who follow a shonen anime really be interested about the story. the idea about this anime is not as simple as we think. The writer managed to show 3 cards from the get go (The Mystes, The Flame Haze, The Tomogara)  which gives a really hard time for both the writer and the readers. WHY? first the writer must keep up the pace and must make 3 separate stories and needs to manage and link it perfectly. And for the readers, it might be confusing and there will be a tendency that it will be hard to follow. But there is a big advantage for bringing this up. Follower tends to talk about theories on what will happen and will recommend the anime to their friends. I believe that the author already know about these critical points. The story is really fast, and twist and turns happen a lot in the progress that will make you crave for more.

I'll give this anime 9/10 for the rating. a bit confusing at some point.
