Lucky Star Review

Lucky Star is an anime adaptation to the four panel comic strip by Kagami Yoshimizu.  The anime adaptation produced a total of 24 episode and was produced by kyoto animation around April 8 to September 16, 2007. The comical strip talks about the daily life of Konata Izumi and her friends. The setting of the animation is based on the city of Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture. Izumi is a laid back Japanese high school girl who is very small for her age. Izumi is a self proclaimed otaku both in anime/manga and in games. She usually asks her friends to go with her to an anime convention to buy new mangas and tankobons ( Japaneses Volumes for manga ). Izumi is somehwat the typical type of otaku who is what we call an addict since she mostly prioritize games and mangas instead of her studies which lead her to copy assignments and ask help from her friends.

Lucky Star is one of my favorite comical skit type of anime. The story it self is really not that special since it talks about the story of the day to day life of an otaku. (which i can see myself doing as well) The way the anime was brought up is really simple. Even if the anime's main characters are all girl, it didn't defeat the purpose of the anime giving a bit of a gist on how otakus live their lives. The comedic style of approach this anime is showing gives off a really smooth aura that's really comforting to watch. The plots and twists the story have is really fun to watch. The way they present the characters is really something. even if most of the casts are females, Boys can still enjoy the humor. And guess what, The characters are well diverse in a way that they have their own selling point. Anime lovers and Otakus will surely love watching this anime... If you want to get a rest from watching hardcore animes then this is one of the best option for you.

I'll rate this anime 9/10 some of the side characters and sub main characters are sometimes taken for granted.
