Buzzer Beater Review

Buzzer Beater is a 13 episode anime adaptation to the work of Takehiko Inoue which was serialized in Shueisha. The manga itself can also be viewed in Takehikos's Webpage in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Buzzer Beater is one of the many basketball themed animes. The series Center Hideyoshi Tanaka, a basketball prodigy at a very young age. Hideyoshi plays with the human team to compete in the inter galactic basketball games. All seems good about their team and the rivalries aside when hideyoshi learned something about himself.

Buzzer Beater is one of the many basketball themed anime i tried watching. To be blunt, i am really confused about this anime. The plot of the anime is actually quite interesting and it had potential. but i am not sure if this anime could go head to head against anime with the same genre. Let me start with the "good" part. The animation of the series is really good. Watching the series actually gives you a bit of thrill and suspense. I would also like to point out the unique idea in bringing basketball to a whole new level while retaining the original essence of the game. The way they presented the game where in viewers feel like they are the one playing because of the angles is fantastic but there's a bit of a negative impact. It is the first anime i watched who's setting takes place in outer space and Extra Terrestrials (aliens) as players. If the transition of this anime is taken into consideration and will be improved, this anime will go far. and Now for the "bad" part. The transitioning of the anime is too fast and is confusing at times. Even if we say that this anime consist of aliens and such. the basket ball game they play is not too realistic. From what i said for the Good part, the transitioning and the camera angles at times are too much ( Basketball is basketball ). Now for the characters. they are not highlighted that much and are not presented well to my contentment. Initially the story only revolves mostly on the main protagonist leaving a bit of loop holes to the other character that seems interesting. Lastly this anime could have improved if it was a bit Longer than 13 episodes.

I'll rate this with 8/10 Needs more episode and polishing.
