Soul Eater Review

Soul Eater is an anime adaptation to a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Okubo. The Story is mainly about weapon meisters and weapons whose job is to defeat 99 Evil spirits and 1 witch to make their weapon a "Death Scythe", A weapon that can be used by the Grim Reaper himself.

The manga is published by Square Enix and started airing april of 2008. Both the anime and the manga have differences even if the anime was derived from the manga. Stories and parts have been changed to fit it in 51 episode.

The Plot:

The Story revolves around the partners Maka Albam (weapon meister) and Soul Evans (Weapon: Scythe),  The Assassin Black Star and his partner Tsubaki Nakatsukasa ( Katana, Ninja Star, etc), and Death the kid (the son of the grim reaper)   and his pistol partners Liz and Patty Thompson, Students of the Death Weapon Meister Academy. The job of every weapon meisters like Maka is to make her partner Soul into a Death Scythe, who are considered the best weapons and are given the chance to be the weapon of the Grim Reaper The only way to be a death scythe is to collect 99 evil souls and 1 witch spirit and feed it to the weapon. All.seemed well at school until one witch (Medusa) tried to unleash the power of a kishin, a powerful evil being who was sealed by the Grim Reaper because it scattered madness and darkness. Now Maka and the others are on the quest to stop the witches and the kishin from spreading madness throughout the world.

In my opinion this is the biggest anime let down for me. the story started really smoothly which is nice since it tends to set the mood and let the readers and followers adjust. the way they introduce the characters is also very interesting. Now back to my initial statement about the anime being a let down. The reason is really simple.the story seems to jump from one storyline in the middle parts which made it really hard to follow. the ending as well is a bit (sorry for my word) stupidly made. For me, this anime could atleast have been made better if they explained more how the story started and make it a bit easier to understand. Even if this anime is for boys they should have atleast give more emphasis on the story. I don't want to spoil but this anime is actually interesting the only downside is the ending.
